The Australian National Cats Inc (ANCATS) is a unique organisation responsive to the needs of all cats, their owners, breeder and exhibitors.

ANCATS is the first and only national cat registry in Australia.  We are affiliated with the World Cat Federation.  ANCATS maintain National Breed Standards, prefix register online, judges training program and breed committee.  We are particularly proud of our national junior handlers program. ANCATS presents both national and regional Cat of the Year (COTY) awards.

Joining ANCATS (Australian National Cats Inc) gives cat owners and breeders the advantage of national and international recognition through Australia’s only national registry, which is also affiliated with the World Cat Federation. Membership ensures transparency and credibility with official pedigrees, traceable records, and a strict code of ethics that promotes responsible breeding and animal welfare. It also provides access to cat shows, titles, breeder listings, and practical tools like the Cat Data system, offering both community support and professional exposure for breeders.
